JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT EBB

The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) represents the interests of European biodiesel producing companies to EU authorities in Brussels. EBB gathers 62 European companies accounting for around 80% of the total EU biodiesel production.

EBB is currently looking for candidates to cover the following positions:

A COMMUNICATION AND PRESS OFFICER

The European Biodiesel is looking for a communication and press office with the following profile:
• University degree either in communication, journalism, public relations, law, politics or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience in an equivalent position
• Excellent English and very good French are required; other EU languages are an asset, in particular Spanish, Portuguese…
• Proven record in writing press material, briefings etc.
• Good knowledge of EU decision-making processes and actors is required
• Prior experience in the field of energy, transport and/or environment is considered a plus but not necessary
• Genuine interest in environmental issues, climate change and energy
• Ability to rapidly summarize complex issues

Tasks
Assist the Secretary General and the Project Managers in:
• Monitoring EU and national media coverage of biofuels and energy issues
• Handling media and press contacts
• Drafting press releases and communication material
• Organising press conferences

A Secretary
The EBB, European Biodiesel Board, is looking for a Secretary reporting directly to the Secretary General helping him in the day to day administration and organisation of the office (databases, contacts, document filing, meetings, conferences, etc.). Excellent French and English are needed (other languages as an asset notably Italian, Spanish Portuguese, Greek). Very dynamic profile and can-do attitude is required. Strong commitment to confidentiality. Good informatics skills (Word, Outlook, Internet, etc.). Some experience can be an asset but is not necessary. The position is at our Brussels headquarter in a prestigious location within a young multinational team.

A Technical Expert with a background of mechanical or chemical engineering with specific knowledge on the interaction between a fuel and a diesel engine. He/she will represent EBB interests in Commission technical working groups, CEN standardisation committees etc., updates the Board on technical progress, alerts about threats and opportunities, maintains the relationship with automobile industries, fuel distributors and refiners. Experience in the automotive or mineral oil sector is an asset. Excellent English is required.

A Junior Assistant (paid traineeship), with a background in EU affairs, Economics or Law.
Excellent (bilingual) English, French proficiency is required. The knowledge of additional EU languages will be considered a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Italian etc…).
Very dynamic profile and can-do attitude is required. An interest in environmental policies and development of “green” energy is a definitive asset.
This position is for a minimum of 9 months, with the possibility to be extended to an indefinite contract, after successful completion of the traineeship period.

Two Stagiaires for a minimum period of 6-9 months, with a background in EU public affairs. One stagiaire should also have a background in EU projects (Call For Proposals in the renewable energies sector). Excellent English proficiency is needed. We welcome candidates from the Leonardo Da Vinci programme.

For all the above positions, the knowledge of additional EU languages is a plus. An interest in environmental policies and development of “green” energy is essential.
